Poem: Seduction (translation of Seducción)

Selected Verses:

Seduction

(translation of Seducción)

by Luis S. González-Acevedo

Let me press your body to the wall
so that your breasts grind against its bricks…

…Your top will fall, sliding against your skin…
…I’ll undress your body; and to make you tremble,
I’ll kiss your back and taste your neck.

My hands will glide throughout your body, your legs…
My mouth will kiss your waist; and as I bite,
my dream will make a feast of you…

Drown in my seduction:
erotic dimension of a lusting reality.
Receive the lashing of my sensuality
and enjoy the delights of my blazing passion.

Poema: ¿Quién con Amor Atormenta?

Versos Selectos:

¿Quién con Amor Atormenta?

por Luis S. González-Acevedo

¿Quién con amor atormenta?
¿Quién destruye el alma
con una caricia de pasión?
El dolor no confunde;
sino lo que confunde produce dolor…

… ¿Quién soy que al entregarme hago mal?
Ese yo es un anhelo.
Un deseo de entregarme a la esclavitud
que sólo el amor produce…

… ¿Quién con amor atormenta?
No lo sé.
¿Quién soy? El pecador puro, preso;
dominando la irreprimible emoción,
encarcelando la inatrapable pasión.

If the United States of America were my lover…
On Lives, Guns & Violence

by Luis S. González-Acevedo

You promised me, my Love, when it all began:
domestic Tranquility and general Welfare.

Please don’t take a stand
with those who profit from our communities and schools in warfare!
Don’t let them misconstrue the right of the people to keep and bear arms!
Remember your promise when they ask you to protect their firearms,
and that the enumeration of certain rights
shall not deny or disparage others retained by the people.
Those other rights, foundation of our happiness,
the argument against those who would deny
that together we will always be The People

We the people
We’ve held these truths to be self-evident:
our unalienable rights,
among these Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

Let your Congress fulfill its solemn duty,
and make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper.
Protect the lives of the citizens who love you truly, my Love.
Protect your children’s lives and prosper.

Poem: Potency (translation of Potencia)

Selected Verses:

Potency

(translation of Potencia)

by Luis S. González-Acevedo

Love, powerful giant
torrential strike of rivers
compared to death
if cold feelings exist.

Love destroys…
Explosive! Dynamite!
It strikes and runs;
and from a distance, mocks and yells…

Poema: Destino del Poeta

Versos Selectos:
