Love’s Reason

(translation/version of Razón de Amor)

A century of my life,
I shall give you.
Whatever your soul requests…
Should you want more years of my existence,
I’ll surrender them as gifts.

Every year is a poem
of deeds and love.
Every verse is a song
about you.

I search for love’s origin
in philosophy.
“Tedious,” they may say,
“Too wordy.”

I’ll clarify my love.
Be patient with my method …
