Poem… Let Me Love You, Sky

Let Me Love You, Sky

(translation|modification of Permíteme Amarte Cielo)

by Luis S. González-Acevedo

Let me love you, Sky –under the moon’s shadow.
Eclipse my anguished soul and illuminate my world
with the predictable and tender calm that abounds in you.
Turn my null existence into triumph.

Let me love you, Sky –under the moon’s shadow.
Turn my null existence into triumph
with the predictable and tender calm that abounds in you.
Eclipse my anguished soul and illuminate my world.

Let viscous rain
drench my parched tongue.
Rain in shadows that seals its love
with drops from you…

Submerge me in the sea of life.
Drown me in the passion of warming sands.
Seduce me with furious waves.
Bathe me with their kisses.
Crown me with your clouds’ red glow.
