Poem… Blaze

Blaze

(translation|modification of Llamarada)

by Luis S. González-Acevedo

Which is stronger than mine?
My rampart,
my Spirited Love…
You: my greatest love,
my ice-embracing fire,
my Kindling of Love…
Sing these trios of verses,
my Sweet Darling;
and you’ll burn as I do
in our Infernal Blaze.

Poema… Llamarada

Llamarada

por Luis S. González-Acevedo

¿Cuál más fuerte que el mío?
Semejante a una muralla,
amor de extremo brío.
Tú, la más amada,
como el fuego abraza al frío…
amor de llamarada.
Si meditas estos tríos
de versos, dulce amada,
verás que existe llamarada.

Poem… dear miss pen

dear miss pen

–september 7, 2018–
columbus, ohio, usa

by Luis S. González-Acevedo

dear miss pen,
my confidant in passing
and thought-memorializing friend
miss pen,
you allow me to command, desire, say & ask
but one day, you’ll leave my thoughts mid task
miss pen,
you’ll take your leave, but to what end?
you’ll silence me, and the flow of words suspend
miss pen,
i’ve cradled you in my hand
my fingers’ touch –paper’s jealousy can’t stand
i’ll grieve the ink you’ve spilled for me, miss pen
i’ll cry our final strokes
and suffer your ink’s end
i promise… our scribbled love shall not erode
nor shall the affection that on my heart you wrote.

dear miss pen will appear in a future book of poems and stories (release date | July 2020)–
