Poem… Fleeting Stars

Fleeting Stars

(translation|modification of Estrellas Fugaces)

by Luis S. González-Acevedo

Like fleeting stars
running swiftly through space:
You & I.
So vast is the distance
between two comets
that the attraction is weak,
almost null.
Predestined,
nature fuses us.
In a frenzied tumble,
we advance toward the same point
in the cosmos:
the same decision,
the same conclusion.
We explode!
We detonate and unite
the elements that compose us.
Making us one:
Bright Star, eternally…
