Poem… Love’s Divine Wine

Love’s Divine Wine

(translation|modification of Amor Vino Divino)

by Luis S. González-Acevedo

Like the sun:
The most beautiful
The brightest star
The most stunning
…whose love brings joy.

With my affections,
I seek the divine in her.
Her love’s vine
is sweet and strong like fire.
Intoxication is my desire
with her love’s divine wine.

Our love is real:
Everlasting fortress
Stronger than the fondness of the womb
that gave her life.

Destiny united us,
if such a thing exists
or maybe it was the gods…

I give thanks for the blessing:
Two temples and their pulpits
of love’s divine wine.

Nature is the word of the Divine. The faithful should be horrified with its destruction –as if sacred scriptures were in flames.

La naturaleza es la palabra de lo Divino. Los fieles deberían llenarse de horror con su destrucción –como si escrituras sagradas estuvieran en llamas.
